(Macaranga grandifolia)

Philippine Coral Tree, or what the locals call as “takip-asin”, is a type of shrub endemic to the Philippines which grows profusely around the country's tropical landscape. Its branches are harvested for its softwood qualities, ideal for the production of birdhouses, planters, and other twig decors. When its branches are cut for the production of such items, new stems regenerate almost instantaneously, making it an ecological and sustainable choice for twig decors.
